Demo and live runs
A run is a strategy working on an exchange with specific parameters, an account and capital. One definition can be run many times with different parameters.
Run types
Section titled “Run types”| Type | Where orders are executed |
|---|---|
| Demo | the exchange’s demo account, no real money |
| Live | a real exchange account |
| Backtest | a simulator over historical data, see Backtests |
Starting a run
Section titled “Starting a run”- On a definition card or page click Run.
- Choose the Run type — Demo or Live.
- Choose the Account. Its ID goes into the strategy parameters
(
tradeAccountUID) automatically and cannot be edited by hand. - Enter the Allocated capital, USDT. The hint shows the account’s free balance from the latest data; the exchange checks the exact balance when the run starts.
- Fill in the Strategy parameters.
- Optionally set Risk limits — they can be changed after the start too. Account limits apply on top.
- Click Run strategy.
A run is refused if the allocation exceeds the free balance, the balance share for runs, or the number of active runs set in the account limits.
The run screen
Section titled “The run screen”- Metrics — run PnL, trades, closed trades, incidents.
- Equity curve — cumulative PnL after each trade; choose how many recent trades to show.
- Run trades — the feed of opened and closed trades, newest first. Click a trade for details: symbol, size, leverage, stop and take, open and close prices, fee and PnL.
- Process incidents — failed blocks, see Incidents.
- Risk management — the run’s limits, their usage and halts.
- Diagram — the current step of the process.
- Parameters and variables and the Live log.
Where the numbers come from
Section titled “Where the numbers come from”Every order the exchange accepts is written to the run’s trade journal. Once a minute the platform reconciles open positions with the exchange and adds the actual open and close prices, PnL and fee. A new trade’s PnL may therefore take up to a minute to appear.
Orders rejected by risk limits are shown in the feed too, with the list of breached limits.
Stopping
Section titled “Stopping”Stop ends the strategy’s process. Open positions are not closed automatically — close them on the exchange yourself if needed.
