Play — checking a diagram

Play runs the diagram in the real engine, but with stubs. It is the fastest way to check variables, conditions and placeholders before saving and backtesting.

  1. Fix the diagram’s errors — Play does not start with them.
  2. Click Play in the editor.
  3. Fill in the strategy parameters the diagram refers to. The values are remembered until the next run.
  4. Click Run.
  • candles are the latest from the exchange, without waiting for the close;
  • orders are not sent anywhere and are immediately treated as closed;
  • pauses last one second;
  • the run stops when the flow returns to the start of the loop, a block fails, or after one minute.

The result panel shows the state (Tick passed without errors, The process reached the end, A block failed, Stopped before the tick ended), the steps with every block’s inputs and results, and the coverage: how many blocks and flows of the diagram were visited.

When a tick passes, the button gets a Play passed mark for this version of the diagram. Any change to the diagram resets it.
